IRIS extends its legal portfolio into Ireland with acquisition of OPSIS
18th June 2008
IRIS Software Group, one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing Software Houses, has announced the acquisition of OPSIS Limited.
The OPSIS brand is well respected in the legal software market with consistently high satisfaction ratings for its products and the quality of its support services, evidenced by the Law Society’s annual Guide to Legal Software Suppliers.
Headquartered in Dublin, OPSIS is recognised as the number one provider of case management systems in Northern Ireland with a strong presence in the regional legal practice markets in the Republic of Ireland and in England and Wales.
The acquisition will enable IRIS to significantly extend its customer footprint in Ireland and at the same time, it marks a further step forward towards IRIS’ goal to provide the legal profession with the widest range of quality software products to suit every size and type of practice.
As IRIS Legal have done with GB Systems in Scotland, there are no plans to consolidate the product range within IRIS Legal and the business will continue to be run independently by its existing management team, who are remaining with the business.
The acquisition will provide OPSIS customers with the access to the resources and investment of a major software house that is committed to the continuous enhancement of its product and service offerings.

Special
Discount Arrangement between OPSIS and ILCA
We are delighted to announce that OPSIS, as a
member of LSSA, has negotiated a special arrangement
with the Institute of Legal Cashiers & Administrators
whereby a member of your staff can receive a 50% discount
off a first year's membership of the Institute.
Members of the ILCA have ready access to quality
distance-learning courses, specialised workshops, the Legal Abacus
Journal, topical annual supplements reflecting the latest regulatory
changes, career development through recognised qualifications, an
advisory helpline, and an interactive Web site designed to meet
the needs of the custodian of a practice's finances.
We believe that OPSIS and the ILCA
share the same values in wanting to raise the standards of financial
support in today's busy law firms. ILCA trained
staff understand legal accounts software better than staff with
no formal training, which means that partners tend to get a much
better return on their IT investment.
To benefit from this new arrangement please visit the ILCA
web site www.ilca.org.uk and
complete the Membership Form, and include the OPSIS
software support contract number: LSSA2007/06.
Please note that this offer only applies to practices that do not
currently have an ILCA member on their staff.
This high-value offer will cost just £38.06 including VAT.
For further information about the ILCA, please
contact their Executive Secretary, Margaret Macdonald, on 020 8302
2867 or email exec.sec@ilca.org.uk
"I feel that this package is very user friendly which
enables all my staff to continue with their daily workload in
a very efficient manner. Once I had been given full training,
I have never looked back. When I do have a query I always have
fantastic support; they are excellent in their working knowledge
and always quick to deal with my queries. OPSIS is always prepared
to listen to user feedback and with this in mind improves the
upgrades with a view to users comments" Suzanne
Hetherington, Calibre Solicitors
SPS
has been designed specifically for smaller legal firms and
start-up practices that do not have the resources available
to implement and manage more expensive and complex systems.
"I recommend, and will continue to recommend,
Millennium to my clients. The software is reliable and always
performs well. The constant developments are always met. The
price makes the package very accessible to all and the support
I and all my staff receive is first class" Richard Ling-Williams, Chancery Bookkeeping Services
